On September 15, 2017, the Fox Valley area had the unique pleasure of hosting a most wonderful music event at a local record store called Kiss The Sky. The event was arranged and sponsored by a local spoken word arts organization named Waterline Writers, the Fox Valley Music Foundation and Kiss The Sky. The event featured Grammy winner Jesus Fernández (laúd), Julián Norato (guitar) and Knox College Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Sociology, William Hope on tres cubano and guitar.

The event was captured on video, a snippet of which is offered below.  Laura Vasilion, a free-lance writer, conducted an interview of Jesus and the article appeared in the Chicago Now on line news publication. This event is a representation of the type of live music that the Fox Valley Music Foundation hopes to bring to the Fox Valley on a more regular basis in the future.
