Apparition Hill – A film about life… and what comes After
Meet the director, Sean Bloomfield, at this special event
ABOUT THE FILM APPARITION HILL
Last year, director Sean Bloomfield offered seven free trips to a place of alleged miracles—a village called Medjugorje, in Bosnia-Herzegovina, where six children claim to have witnessed ongoing apparitions of the Virgin Mary since 1981 through today.
While the Church does not formally approve the authenticity of an alleged apparition .until it ceases, millions of people have journeyed to Medjugorje to see for themselves. Nearly all describe a sense of peace they’ve never felt before. Could it be real? The veteran filmmaker sought to find out by bringing seven strangers of different backgrounds to help investigate the truth.
Of the 170 entries, the film crew chose a diverse, unbiased group for the free trip and documented their entire journey.
Contestants included a young mother with stage 4 cancer, an atheist from England, an agnostic Chicago police officer, a man suffering from ALS, a heroin addict and former felon, a father of nine who lost his wife to cancer, and a woman questioning her faith. Will their climb atop Apparition Hillfind a modern-day miracle or a spectacular hoax?
