The Sound of Purple is a Las Vegas based killer Tribute Band made up of extraordinary musicians who grew up listening to Deep Purple, Rainbow, Dio and Whitesnake. Last year this long-anticipated band broke onto the Vegas scene to amazing reviews such as “this is the band that does EVERY Deep Purple song justice from the biggest hits to the Deep tracks!.” In Dec they were honored with “Best Vegas Performance of the Year” by top-rock authority, ZRocKR Magazine in the category of Best Local Band.. And in June they were recognized again, “Sound of Purple impressed once more during this fantastic Eastside Cannery set! The Sound of Purple covers Deep Purple hits like “Smoke on the Water,” “Highway Star,” “Hush” and “Woman from Tokyo.” For harder-core fans, “Pictures of Home,” “Fireball,” “You Fool No One” and “No One Came.” The emphasis is, understandably, on the classic Mark II era of Deep Purple, arguably its finest and most recognized of all.Dio, Rainbow & Whitesnake are related to the Deep Purple legacy. The Sound of Purple covers Dio in the form of “Rainbow in the Dark;” Rainbow in the form of “Man on the Silver Mountain” and “Since You Been Gone;” and even Whitesnake with “Still of the Night” and “Love Ain’t No Stranger” plus more.

Deep Purple was inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year. Paying homage to their extraordinary catalogue of music are The Sound of Purple band mates: vocalist Stephen Austin Taylor, guitarist Lee Spencer (Raven Storm), bassist Ken Tonn, drummer Ryan Krieger and keyboardist Sam McCaslin.
